This old inn, once called the Black Lion, was then renamed Dickson’s Arms in 1860 by C F Dickson, owner of Black Beck Gunpowder Works. In the 1940s and 1950s it was a transport cafe and in 1990s was completely refurbished and renamed after the Rusland Pool river nearby.
